Inspiring Tomorrow’s Business Women to Overcome Fear and Show Up Confidently to Create Their Legacies

WHAT DO YOU KNOW TODAY THAT YOU WISH YOU KNEW WHEN YOU STARTED YOUR JOURNEY IN BUSINESS?

WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE YOU RECEIVED THAT HAS RESONATED WITH YOU ALL THIS TIME?

IF YOU COULD START AGAIN, WHAT IS ONE THING THAT YOU WOULD TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELF TO DO?

IF YOUR DAUGHTER/GRANDDAUGHTER/SISTER STARTED HER BUSINESS TODAY, WHAT WOULD YOU TELL HER?

33 BUSINESS WOMEN IS A PHOTOGRAPHIC LOVE LETTER FROM YOU TODAY TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF IMPARTING WHAT YOU KNOW THAT WOULD’VE MADE IT EASIER.

We’ll laugh, we’ll cry, and we’ll cheer alongside each other. Above all, we’ll show resilience to others in the tender words and soul-lifting stories of perseverance and overcoming fear to leap into the unknown world of business.

It’s a LEGACY we’ll leave for other women—a piece of ourselves today for those who will follow their yellow brick road. 33 Women. 33 Real, Authentic Stories.

WHY?

I have had so many conversations with women—both in business and in the corporate world—and in all the conversations there’s always a theme that comes up about pursuing their dreams. We are mothers, daughters, wives, spouses, [insert job description] and have to juggle so many things, that even if we wanted to start a business to leave behind a legacy for our children or better our status in life, we don’t:

-Know where to start and where to even begin researching for what we want to do
-Have the time in to do all that in the afternoons/evenings, and
-Are afraid to jump with any sort of feet in because we have bills to pay and mouths to feed.

One day, after a Women in Corporate-type conference that I went to, I shared the insights I learned from the Conference with my boss—a wonderful woman with years of experience and knowledge in the industry. It was the insight around how sometimes as Women, we minimize ourselves, our accomplishments, and our ability to do a job, stopping ourselves from going for jobs we’d be 100% qualified for. And she says that it’s absolutely true—that we often give so much of ourselves to helping others solve their problems both at home and at work, because we may “know best”, and we forget about filling out our cups and what nourishes us, so when it comes time to promotions and asking for the job that we want or the career that we want, we don’t have the energy to show for it. Several months later, my boss retired but the retirement announcement was made in an unceremonious and shocking manner, rippling across the teams and negatively impacting them. After the meeting, as we said our tearful goodbyes, she told me that I have so much talent and passion for what I do, that I will be successful at whatever it is that I choose to do. And I knew then I need to expand my knowledge in business, to do whatever I can as a business owner to ensure my own success and security.

And having to figure it all out from scratch is hard but doable when you have a community of women who can give you advice, insights, and some impactful advice. So now, I want to pay that forward and inspire other women who may want to be in business but just don’t know where to start.

I’m so tired of playing small because society tells us to. I want women to dream large, play large, break glass ceilings, and build legacies for generations to come.

AS A PART OF THIS CAMPAIGN, WE WILL:

  1. Do a Consultation to understand your business needs, what to wear, and what I need to bring

  2. Do a photoshoot where we do a headshot and then I promise, I’ll be a fly on the wall for the rest of it! You do what you usually do, and I’ll be your shadow for that time

  3. Do an Interview to talk about your business start, the challenges and the fears—this will be turned into a blog in early 2024.

I am all about authentic story telling, and being real about it all, so these will be real stories, real women.

Also, I’ll Make You Look Beautiful and Feel Confident in Photos

One of my clients was a business woman in her 50s who started a consulting business after years in the industry. During our shoot, we took some amazing, flattering images of her, and she said to me, “Omg, Adrienne, I love these images of myself—I never thought I could look like this in images. I tried to get images done by a photographer in a studio, and the session was so bad that I ended up hiding in the bathroom, crying and calling my daughter to ask her if I really did look that old with so many wrinkles.”

I told her that she’s already beautiful, and whoever took those images of her was an idiot who wouldn’t see beauty if it smacked them in the face.

But, Adrienne—I don’t know how to pose…

Yes and neither did Erica. She’s my hairstylist because I don’t know how to do my hair to make it look good. But she looks amazing and bad-ass in her headshot, don’t you think?

Just like my hair keeps looking great every time I see her.

Look, you don’t have to know how to pose at all.

I can walk you through it all, and if Erica can have a lot of fun despite being worried about posing so much so that by the end of the session she’s walking a runway, I know you can too.

It’s all about knowing how to use camera angles and working with you to make you look and feel natural. You belong on the cover of a Magazine.

WHAT WE DO NEXT:

We will start with a consultation to go learn about your business, what you need and what you want for your social media and online presence. From there, we’ll start collaborating on what stories we want to tell about your business—you’re the owner, so you tell me what makes sense for you and your business to tell. I’m here to advise on the lighting the imagery and how to make it look good for you so that you can bring in more clients to your business.

Then we’ll do the session, and have a great time. Sessions are usually between 1-2.5 hours, dependent on the business/industry and its needs. From there, I’ll edit images, and we’ll do a photo reveal session about two weeks from the session. The purpose of this photo reveal is to go over the images together and enable me to make any adjustments to the images to make sure that they are on brand for your company.

Once you’ve selected your final images, they will be shared alongside your story on a blog I’m working on.

FUTURE GOALS FOR THE PROJECT:

Right now, it’s all about getting it on a blog, spotlighting your business. But I would love to do a gallery exhibition with this project once it’s completed, and then maybe a book. Dream big, amirite?

BUT ADRIENNE!!! I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS…

Yes, great!—how can I help?

What is the investment for this campaign?

$0 for the photo session.

Yes really, $0. I don’t charge for my sessions at all because I know that photography and content creation is a big cost prohibitive item for all businesses that are starting out or are small to medium sized. And because of that, photography is the last thing businesses want to invest in (even when they should invest in it sooner) because they are worried and afraid of spending money on a photographer or content creator that may not deliver exactly what it is that they need or want out of the photos. So you’re already coming from a place of worry because there’s not a lot of money to go around, and entering a headspace of worry and stress that the images won’t turn out the way you want them because you’ve already paid for it and need to get a return on investment.

Sound familiar? Yeah. I’m taking that right out the window—there’s no space for that fear because it shuts you down for something that you definitely need for your business. Let’s take those photos and let’s have a blast while doing it.

Then, once the images are edited, you can purchase only the images that you love. Whether that’s 0 or all of them, that’s up to you—there’s no obligation to buy anything. All of the images come with commercial licenses and start at $175 per image. I offer folios starting at $1594.

What’s the deal with the commercial licensing and why can’t I just use photos from the session I did with my family photographer to sell my business?

Photographers own the copyrights to any images they take, automatically based on US laws and regulations. And based on that, they can dictate how you can use those images even if you do purchase them, so you can be liable for copyright infringement if you use photos for a different use than they were specified by the contract you signed. So if you use your family photographs to further sell your business, those images could break the terms and conditions of the contract you signed and if the photographer finds out, they can charge you additional monies for using it in a way against their terms and conditions.

As part of this campaign, you will need to sign a model release so that I can share your images on social media, and in blogs. I’ll inform you of any updates about the campaign and future plans for it—like an exhibition and a book.

How do you decide the final images that you’ll share on the blog posts with the stories?

If you love an image and you purchase it, those will be the ones that I use on the post alongside your story.

I have only a limited amount of space for this—33 Stories—and while there is no obligation to purchase any images, the business women who purchase, at a minimum, the lowest package of images from their set by March 2024, will be the ones whose stories I ultimately share on the blog posts.

How many spots do you have left?

6 for 2023, and 10 for 2024, so grab your spot soon!
